Berkeley: Parnassus Press, 1968. First US Edition/Early Printing. Hardcover. Fair/Good. The second state of the first book in The Earthsea Trilogy. Ex-library edition in teal pictorial cloth with some very small holes/tears to cloth at bottom of front board from tape removal which has left light tape shadows to tops and bottoms of boards. Stamps to top and bottom page ends as well as title page which also has number written in. Vertical tape scars to pastedowns where jacket had been affixed and scarring to ffep where pocket/due slip and stickers have been removed. Light wear overall, not excessive. Just a few spots to front page ends and a few pages, otherwise clean with tight binding. Jacket has '11up' on flap and 'Library Edition' stamp to bottom of flap. One 1 1/2 inch horizontal tear along top of rear panel near spine that has been taped on the inside, sticker shadow to bottom of spine and masking tape to vertical edges of flaps where it had been taped to book. Some light trimming to same flap edges. A couple chips/nicks to corners of flaps.
Synopsis
A Wizard of Earthsea, first published in 1968, is the first of a series of books written by Ursula K. Le Guin and set in the fantasy world archipelago of Earthsea depicting the adventures of a budding young wizard named Ged. The tale of Ged's growth and development as he travels across Earthsea continues in The Tombs of Atuan and The Farthest Shore and is supplemented in Tehanu and The Other Wind.
