Berkeley: Parnassus Press, 1968. First US Edition/First Printing. Hardcover. Fair/Fair. Scarce First Edition/First Printing with faint vertical smudge on the title page. A reinforced ex-library copy that was rebound for the library market with stamps to top page ends, front pastedown and title page. Due slip to front pastedown as well with pocket to ffep. Numbers to title page and rfep with sticker and bindery stamp to rear pastedown. Some tape shadows/residue to tops and bottoms of boards and endpapers. A few spots stains to page ends. Interior fairly clean and binding solid. Jacket is present, but price-clipped and laminated with some edgewear/rubbing, tape residue and call sticker to bottom of spine. Bottom of front flap clipped as well which appears to be quite common.
Synopsis
A Wizard of Earthsea, first published in 1968, is the first of a series of books written by Ursula K. Le Guin and set in the fantasy world archipelago of Earthsea depicting the adventures of a budding young wizard named Ged. The tale of Ged's growth and development as he travels across Earthsea continues in The Tombs of Atuan and The Farthest Shore and is supplemented in Tehanu and The Other Wind.
