About This Item

London: Secker & Warburg, 1961. Hardcovers. Very Good/Very good. Three strong, tight, bright and clean volumes in green cloth with gilt spine titling, 1265 total pages, unmarked within except for previous owner's name and address label to ffep of Volume 2. Occasional spotting to endpapers and the usual age-toning. Volume 2's boards are somewhat mottled/ discolored possibly from once having gotten damp, but there is no sign of damage or unusual scent. Volume 3's stitching is just starting to show at rear pastedown. All three dust-jackets have been variously sunned so that they appear either light tab, green or light brown, possibly due to the volumes originating in different printings, thus: Volumes 1 and 2 state "Reprinted 1961" while 3 is the1960 edition. More likely too much light came in the collector's window. Volume 2's jacket has a tiny puncture to the spine, not affecting the book itself, and some staining to front cover. . Minor edge-wear to crowns of dj's but in all a handsome and healthy set of this masterpiece. Please see additional images provided. Books will be wrapped in archival mylar before shipment.
