About This Item
Unpublished Masters thesis for the fulfillment of a Masters of Arts in the History Department at Brigham Young University. The book studies the Mountain Man period from 1822-1840, particularly the end of hunt Rendevous and the Winter Quarters. The author maintains that the Winter Quarters are what made the fur trade profitable. These locations are where the supplies were brought in for the trappers. Also, the structure and organization of the Winter Quarters is examined. There are 20 maps and 20 archival photographs. The book is near fine with only very light handling. No dust jacket, as issued. I have yet to find this material published elsewhere.
