Final (#12) book in the author's beloved series from the 1920s-1930s featuring Manhattan detective Philo Vance. A FIRST EDITION, first printing from Scribner's ("A") from 1939, this hardcover 8vo has black cloth-covered boards stamped with red lettering to front & spine. From the Hollywood Rental Library (sticker to ffep is only mark), it is in Good condition: generally quite clean with the occasional spot or smudge, binding strong with a marked rightward lean, pages tanned, heavier around edges, but unmarked. The unclipped DJ (with $1.75 price intact to front flap) was glued to the book by the library, & is only Good, with fairly heavy rubbing to extremities & mild vertical creasing. Circular spot of paper loss to mid-spine. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have!
