Original blue cloth with blind stamped decorations to front and back covers, spine re-backed in plain black cloth without titles on spine. Pale blue endpapers. viii, 140pp, tall quarto. With 58 good quality steel engravings in plates by B. Winkles after drawings by Robert Garland; with guard leaves. These show exteriors, interiors, and architectural plans. Detailed historical text. This volume covers Lincoln, Chichester, Ely, Peterborough, Norwich, Exeter, Bristol and Oxford cathedrals. depicting exterior and interior views of Ely Cathedral. Very Good copy: the pages and plates are clean and bright, with just the odd marginal spot and very light bronwing to some guard leaves. Covers have spine rebacked as mentioned (with no title to spine), and abrasions to corners, but binding is firm. Old small label residue inside front cover, presumably had previous owner's name on it..
