About This Item

Abilene, TX: Four-O Publishing, 2000. First edition, limited to 500 copies. 4to, 55, [3]pp. Photographs, facsimiles. Warmly signed and inscribed by Farmer to Frances Ware on the ffep and dated in the year of publication. Beige card wraps, perfect bound and stamped in red and black. Fine condition.

Wonderful copy of David Farmer's great work on the Santa Fe artist, Willard Clark (1910-1992), inscribed to Frances Ware (1923-1010), "Who appreciates the work of Willard Clark and the beauty of New Mexico that inspired him."  Willard Clark's works are synonymous with the 20th century Southwest, and in particular, Santa Fe.

Ware was an alumni of SMU, where Farmer served as director of the Degolyer Library from 1985-2001.  She was a big supporter of the libraries and arts in Dallas, serving on the advisory board of the Friends of the SMU Libraries.  The Meadows Museum holds an important collection of landscapes from Southwestern artists which she posthumously gifted.  .
