Edges and corners rubbed, Some light marking upper board vol I. Volume III hinge loosening between title page and frontis plate. Internally very clean. Very good condition. [heavy set, please inquire regarding post charges] Landmark work of natural history by the English naturalist Richard Lydekker, who died shortly before the book was published. Lavishly illustrated with black and white engravings and colour plates. Volume I covers the wildlife of Europe, and Volume III the wildlife of Africa, Australia, and Polynesia. Many hundreds of mammals, birds and fish are described and illustrated. 1st Edition.
