About This Item

New York: Frederick A. Stokes, 1935. A very attractive copy of a book tough-to-find in First Edition, especially in dust jacket and in collectible condition as nice as this. SEE PHOTOS. Fine condition in a Very Good dust jacket. The jacket is complete and its colors are still very bright and attractive. NOT price clipped ($1.75). The publisher has blacked out two mistaken words (i.e. "and crocodiles") on the jacket's front inner flap as crocodiles are not mentioned in the book (but alligators are). Protected by a removable Brodart clear-plastic sleeve (temporarily removed for photos to reduce glare). This is an extremely appealing, pretty copy. All pages are creamy white, clean, crisp and unmarked. The jacket art depicts a brown running deer and several greenish waterfowl on the wing. The jacket has minor wear at the corners and at the bottom of the rear panel there are two half-inch closed tears and one 2" closed tear. The front panel of the jacket has a few faint brown spots. The tan cloth binding is Very Fine, essentially FLAWLESS. It is lettered in brown on the front cover and on the spine. The front cover is illustrated at the top with four ducks in flight. Illustrated throughout with drawings by Charles E. Pont.. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine condition/Very Good dust jacket. Illus. by Pont, Charles E.. 8vo. 253pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

About About Books

About Books (Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and OP books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail-order catalogues, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of over 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialties listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you wish to visit us to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please, only between the hours of 8am and 10pm (west coast time).
