London: Country Life Limited, 1938. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. Number 330 of a limited edition of 1,250 copies signed by author on verso of half-title. pp xi, 116 with frontispiece and 19 plates in color, 63 plates in black and white, and additional line drawings. Bound in blue cloth with title stamped in gilt, top edge gilt. Slight ripple to cloth on front board, minor foxing to endpapers, bookplate on verso of front free endpaper; all else about fine. Only partial dust jacket presen: lacks spine panel and is edgeworn and lightly spotted. With the original blue cardboard slipcase, which is heavily rubbed. From the dust jacket: "This book is a description and appreciation of those most exciting and mysterious birds - Wildfowl. It is full of interesting anecdotes and not without humour. It includes adventures in Hungary, Roumania and Persia and a chapter on fabulous birds." Due to size, shipping will be more than standard for Priority or International orders.
