About This Item

Nashville, Tenn.: Broadman Publishing, 1977. [1977] SPECIAL EDITION, SIGNED BY PRESIDENT J. CARTER. First thus printing. Specially published in a special green Fine binding with gilt lettering and gilt presidential seal. Published as the Presidential Edition, 208 pages. Book fits into a gold plastic container with a clear cover. Condition: Fine, new, stored in temperature-controlled cabinet. Free of smoke smells from a cigarette or cigar smoker. [Note: Some online book dealers of this book title list it as "new" or "fine," even though the book was read. This book was never read, purchased as a collectible by the collector.] "Why Not the Best?" was first written and published as a trade edition (copyright 1975), but now re-published in a bright new Fine binding for collectors. Carter wrote this book at the beginning of his campaign for the presidency. Historic political events have occurred, but the basic themes which Carter expressed in early chapters of this book have changed very little. His acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention is a good summary of his feelings about our country and its future, according to President Carter. A wonderful, signed, collectible book. Note: We are a well-established, well-respected, ethical book dealer in business since 1991. We describe the condition of our books thoroughly and honestly, so you'll know exactly what you will be receiving when you order. We ship promptly.. First Thus Edition, Fine Binding. Fine Binding. Fine.
