Ace Books, New York, 1957. First Edition. Rebound. Good Condition. 160 pages for the first story and 158 pages for the second with a further 2 pages of further ace-double novels. This book originally started out as a paperback but has been rebound as a hardback. The book has been split in half and the second part of the book has been righted as to read from front cover to back cover rather than than turning book over to read the second stories as is normal in an ace double. Green cloth boards with gilt writing on the spine and the original book panel illustrations on the front and back panels. Minor rubbing and bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and a little rubbing to the book corners. There has been quite a deal of rubbing and marking to the illustrated panels. Quite heavy browning to the paper edges and to the internal pages. A little offset tanning and foxing to the endpapers. Inserted between the first and second story is previous owners book plate -- bound with in the book. A book about alien invasion and Earth's response to same. The first book is a novel by Lan Wright and the second a series of short stories edited by Donald Wollheim. This is the First USA Edition. Size: 16mo - up to 6 ¾" tall - Sextodecimo.
