Someone "married" the first edition with a reprint dust jacket that is almost identical to first edition jacket. Thebook is in very good condition, gray cloth shoews some light wear and soiling, previous owner's name at front endpaper. The dust jacket is rubbed, with chips out at head and foot of spine, which is also sunned. Jacket is rubbed, with wear at folds and dampstain at rear. This detective tale opens with Michael Stang holding a country house- party,-- a "Fifth of November" party -- where a number of ebullient young people are assembled., During dinner, Maurice Strang, the host, is called to the telephone, and does not reappear in time for the fireworks' in the garden.
