Octavo. 7 x 9 in. xix, 134 pp. Near fine in the original pictorial covers, with only slight signs of reading and use. Signed by Mickler on the title page and by Jargon publisher Jonathan Williams on the interior front cover. A first-issue of the first edition, with R. Philip Hanes Jr. listed as a sponsor to the edition. Later issues list Haynes and his wife as sponsors.
Synopsis
Ernest Matthew Mickler received a master’s degree in fine arts from Mills College before embarking on his true mission as a culinary cultural preservationist. Ernie died in 1988, but his classic cookbook, and all the stories enshrined within its pages, live on.
