About This Item
New York: Little, Brown & Co., 1981. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Very good. Octavo (21 cm), pp. 379. Signed and inscribed on free front endpaper to his friends, Tom and Dee Cox of Tucson, Arizona. Jacket with Aztec-style design, orange boards with black quarter binding. Spine is mildly cocked, jacket has moderate edge wear with several small closed tears, binding glue visible through endpapers. This was Harrington's third novel, a darkly humorous thriller that was named a notable book of the year by the New York Times Book Review. Inscribee Tom Cox wrote of Harrington in the Tucson Weekly after the author's death in 1997, "Alan Harrington was a quirky, quixotic genius of a writer whose works, fiction and non-fiction, were always philosophical. One's view of the world was changed after reading him."
