First edition. 16mo square (6 5/8" x 6 1/8"); [26]pp; pale gray cloth over board, pastedown label on front board with blue lettering and witch hazel branches; animal vignettes in blue within a border on eps; pictorial title page, cat tails with lettering in a blue border; 13 full-page illustrations in shades of blue; light glue burn at front hinge, brown stain on lower edge 2pp; unclipped pictorial dust jacket with price of $1.00 of front flap, plants and lettering on the front in blue, vignette of oak leaves on rear panel, lightly age-toned; very good plus in very good plus dj. Hare W2. One of Tasha Tudor's (1915-1908) sweetly told stories accompanied by her tender illustrations. Tudor was an American writer and illustrator primarily of children's books. She felt her unconventional childhood led her to live an agrarian life as an adult, and fostered her love of illustration.
