This is a very good hardcover with dust jacket. 1979. Doubleday Publishing. INSCRIBED by Stuart Schiff. This copy is very good inside and out. The pages are still crisp and clean with no other markings aside from inscription seen. The binding is tight and straight. Maroon hardcover boards under jacket are very good with only a hint of shelf wear. the dust jacket is overall very good with light wearing at edges/corners. Slightly smaller size, crown octavo book size or 5.5" x 8" with 237 pages.
Whispers edited by Stuart David Schiff was originally published as a magazine in the 1970's. It was a sort of attempt to revive the legendary Weird Tales in some way. It was a showcase for fantasy fiction with fine illustrations. Some o the best writers were featured including Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell and more. Beginning in 1978 it morphed into anthologies published in hardcovers by Doubleday.
This copy of Whispers ll edited by Stuart Schiff is inscribed as follows: "For John C. Hanic I found a copy for you this is without remainder specks. Enjoy! From the handsome devil on the front cover Best Stuart David Schiff 2/15/88".
