About This Item
[Mount Vernon, NY]: Editions, 2003. Accordion. Fine. 32mo size, 10 pp., signed by Ed Hutchins. Book Artist Edward H. Hutchins believes that: everyone has a story to tell; that the best books are not mass-produced; and that when one let's one's imagination soar, the most amazing creations are possible utilizing, often, fairly inexpensive materials. Thus was born - Guerilla Bookmaking.
Ed Hutchins has produced at least over eighty books between the years 1968 and 2005 (perhaps more - gleaned from several sources). Always creative and frequently carrying a social justice message, Ed's books charm and delight. His own web site offers a few books which are still in print; this volume, presenting "a reminder that choices made in the present, both personal and national, have long term consequences" - is out of print and we are pleased to offer it here (n.b., quote from the insert accompanying the volume).
___DESCRIPTION: Accordion structure which was taped forming a french-fold binding style of heavy grey paper with black lettering and decorations throughout, the front with a light grey-coloured paper label with black lettering surrounded by a black border, each pair of pages with one word pasted in on light grey paper, also between each pair of pages is an inserted strip of grey paper with a single word printed on each side, signed in blue ink by Ed Hutchins on the final page; 32mo size (4" by 2 1/8"), unpaginated with five leaves, ten printed pages. Loosley laid in is a small sheet of grey paper containing a summary of the meaning and message of the book. Enclosed in a small mylar envelope (uncertain whether this was furnished by the publisher or by a prior owner).
___CONDITION: Fine, clean throughout, straight corners without rubbing, the binding strong, and entirely free of prior owner markings; crisp and as new.
