Ida Bailey Allen was a busy woman; she had a national radio program, she was the Sunday food editior for the New York American, she wrote 50 cookbooks, and she was Founder and President of the National Radio Homemakers' Club., and would be known as the "Nation's Homemaker" for evermore. This little book is about entertaining at home, from formal to casual. 1932 was just beyond the tail end of the Depression when money was still scarce, and inviting friends and family to your home was popular. This little book sold over 375,000 copies in its first six months in print. 124pp. with many line drawings and a few photographs. Includes an index of chapters. Etiquiette tips abound for weddings and formal occassions. Coca Cola mentioned on about every page. Book has some light wear to cover, a few places of rubbing (see photo), but the interior is clean and unmarked. Binding is tight. Not all that scarce; but nice copies are hard to come by..
