On Apr 3 2020, a reader said:
I inherited this book from my uncle before he died, and he purchased it new in 1946. And the type of western that nearly every writer in the genre was producing at that time was this kind of book with faced paced action and dialog, quite a bit of comedy and banter between the characters, and the like. These books make for fun reading, and for an evening of old fashioned entertainment are excellent. They also, if you will notice, take historical people and not so deliberately tried to hide them, often by intermixing names, such as the man who controls the town of Millman City, Wyatt Holliday, obviously a take off on Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday--he is suppposed to be a fast man with a gun. Another thing which Mr. MacDonald is excellent at is mystery solving in his books, as his characters investigate the hold-ups, the murders, and the like. Get this book and enjoy yourself.
