Pasadena: Val Trefz Press, 1942. Hardcover. xiv, 88p., foreword, scattered b&w vignette illustrations, bibliography, first edition stated in openweave red cloth titled white, in lightly-worn unclipped red dj. A splendidly clean sound copy, all reds are high-saturation and unfaded, probably unread and certainly unmarked. Contents start with first visit in 1769 and goes on to real estate hype, Chamber of Commerce howlers, Hollywood inflations and WWII preparations. Robinson wrote and compiled many small books and pamphlets on Southern California cities, large and small; this item is exclusively LA, exclusively derision, and mostly pretty clever. He begins thusly: "nobody enjoys cracks about Los Angeles as much as residents of Los Angeles. This is a good sign
