John Murray, 1952. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 1952. First Edition. 274 pages. Two Centuries of Voluntary Service, 1719-1948. Pictorial dust jacket over blue cloth with gilt lettering. Contains black and white illustrated and photographic plates. Colour fold-out frontispiece. Pages are bright with light tanning and foxing to free endpapers and text block edges. Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper, with a few small nicks along text block edge. Minor dog-eared corners. Occasional thumb-marking present throughout. Plates are bright and clear, with slight tanning to edges. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with slight bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate tanning and sunning to spine and edges, with visible crushing to spine ends. Book has a notable forward lean. Unclipped jacket has heavy surface wear, with some areas of loss, heavy tears, chips and creasing to spine, edges and corners. Moderately tanned and foxed overall.
