Englewood, CO; Fort Worth, Texas: First Baptist Church of Englewood; Castleberry Baptist Church, 1969. Nineteen issues of the newspaper founded by the fundamentalist preacher Harvey H. Springer; all with horizontal fold; the earliest on toned newsprint , later issues on better quality stock with lesser toning, occasional handling wear, mailing address on rear covers. Issues present are vol. 11 n. 43 (1949) and then from almost 20 years later, vol. 33 nos. 36, 37, 40, 43, 44, vol. 34 nos. 2, 3, 7, 11, 12, 13, 15-21. The founder was a fiery anti-communist, anti-Catholic and pro-segregation preacher, though he had fewer problems with Jews as long as they converted. Articles include "School textbook teaches profanity" (example: "Jimmy lit a cigarette"), "Integration is their obsession" ("Integration is bound to lead to interracial marriages, which are so displeasing to God, so disruptive of family harmony, and so destructive of our culture. It is racial suicide"), and "Blasphemers mark Christ as vagrant, anarchist, charlatin (sic)" (about a Catholic priest who depicted Jesus as a draft-dodger who wanted to return the land to the Native Americans).
