SIGNED/INSCRIBED by Joe Grandee on page iv to Custer historian and author John M. Carroll (1928-1990): "To my friend John Carroll / Best regards / Joe Grandee". On page one is an ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING by Grandee, signed by him, dated 1970 and with his brand. John Carroll's SIGNED bookplate is on the front free endpaper. Illustrated dust jacket. Profusely illustrated from Grandee's paintings and drawings, many in color. Cloth, with Grandee's brand on the front cover. 10" x 12". Joe Ruiz Grandee (1929-2021) was a third gerneration Texan, widely collected for his western paintings and sculpture. He was appointed for one year as the Official State Artist of Texas, and was honored with a one man retrospective in the United States Capitol. A unrique association copy. A Fine copy in a Very Good Plus jacket (considerable edgewear and rubbing to the spine), now in a clear mylar protective sleeve.
