An illustrated first edition of Major Arthur Griffiths' military history book on Wellington and Waterloo First edition illustrated copy with original publisher's binding of Major Arthur Griffiths' Wellington and Waterloo. Part of the Navy and Army Illustrated Library intending to tell the stories of British national heroes. Griffiths details the life of the Duke of Wellington and the events of the Battle of Waterloo. Major Arthur Griffiths (1838-1908) was not only a military historian but a British military officer. He also spent some of his career as military correspondent for The Times newspaper. This illustrated history book contains one or more monochrome illustration to nearly every page, with a coloured plate in the front endpapers. Gold engraved lettering to the front board and spine.Collated, complete. Original publisher's cloth binding. Externally smart. Some minor bumping to the rear and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Some shelf wear rubbing to the boards. Front pastedown is ripped slightly. The front endpaper and the coloured plate is detached. Front hinge is starting. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Good
