About This Item
Santa Barbara: Black Sparrow Press, 1978. First Edition. An exquisite production by the Black Sparrow Press, and the final issue of Sparrow magazine, containing 12 poems by Charles Bukowski. While the simultaneous issue in wrappers was produced in a run of 1,402 copies, the cloth issue remains among the scarcest and tiniest limitations of any of Bukowski's books. Krumhansl 62b; Morrow & Cooney 305. Deluxe Issue, one of 20 copies specially bound in cloth, each with an original full-page pastel drawing tipped in - this copy unnumbered, but from the collection of Earle and Larry Gray. Octavo (23.5cm); full paisley-patterned cloth, with title label mounted to front cover; publisher's original actetate dustjacket; [iv],[20]pp; signed by the author on the title page. Fine in a lightly rubbed, Near Fine dustjacket.
