Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1945. First Edition. First printing Near fine in burnt orange cloth covered boards with blue and gilt text on the front board & spine with dust stains to the top edge. In a very good- dust jacket with 1/4" chips at the upper edge of the spine area, 1/8" chips at the fore corners of the panels and with the extremes and spine area tanned. A novel which takes place in a small indusrial town in the British midlands before and during World War II.
