Octavo; 3/4 orange paper over quarter cream cloth, with titles stamped in black on spine and front panel; brown-orange topstain; 180pp, [1]. Signed by Doctorow on the title page. Slight forward lean, with minor wear to lower corners and some of the usual tanning to text edges; Near Fine. Dustjacket is unclipped and lightly edge-worn; Near Fine. Doctorow's first book, elusive in collectors condition, and basis for the 1967 Burt Kennedy film starring Henry Fonda, Aldo Ray, Warren Oates, and Janice Rule.
