Paperback. 276p., illustrated with lots of b&w period images and photos reproduced on inserted coated stock, the general text paper is very toned and verging on fragile; covers are a bit worn, dust-soiled and corner-creased, but quite intact and handleable, a fair to good copy of a book that was not meant to last long. From p.78: "Napoleon did not like Versailles.. this badly constructed building which the Revolution ought to have destroyed..
