About This Item
London: William Heinemann Ltd, 1947. 1st Edition. Black Cloth. Very Good/Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 642pp. A lovely copy of this first edition with wrapper. Gilt embossed lettering o the front board and spine. Light bump to the head of the spine and a slight bump to the tail of the spine and four board corners. Neat ink name and date inscription to the top corner of the front end paper. Previous booksellers name sticker to the tail of the rear paste down with ghosting to the rear end paper. A few slight foxspots to the fore edges. Clean and tight. Dust wrapper is protected in a fuly reversible plastic sleeve and is not price clipped. There is rubbing with a little loss to the head of the spine of the wrapper and a small chip to the tail of the spine of the wrapper - both head and tail have several tiny associated niks. Slightest of loss also to the corners of the front panel of the wrapper. A few slight rub marks to the spine of the wrapper - despite these metnioned faults the wrapper is largely complete and well protceted. A very good copy.
