Grosset & Dunlap, 1961. Hardcover. Excellent/Very Good. Clayton Knight. Vintage Tweed Cloth Cover Hardback Book with Dust Jacket. Book has a tight binding and clean crisp internal pages. Inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to be unread. There are a few small spots on the top page ends but they do not effect the inside text and this is just shelf wear. Book has come from a private collection. Outside tweed cloth covers are very nice with minor corner and edge wear. Dust Jacket shows some minor soiling and edge chipping at the top and bottom of the outside spine. Dust Jacket is now covered by a new clear mylar cover. There is a small name stamp in the upper left hand corner of the inside front flap. Book Club Edition. We Were There Books are easy to read and provide exciting, entertaining stories, based upon true historic events. Each story is checked for factual accuracy by an outstanding authority on this particular phase of history. Though written simply enough for young readers, they make interesting reading for boys and girls well into their teens. One of our family's favorite series! This is the story of the Lafayette Escadrille- one squadron of American volunteers who fought in the air alongside a galaxy of French squadrons between April 26, 1916, and February 18, 1918.
