Grosset & Dunlap, 1956. Hardcover. Excellent/Very Good. Raymond Lufkin. Collectible Cloth Cover Book with Dust Jacket. Book is in Very Good Plus condition with a tight binding and clean crisp internal pages. Inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to be unread. There is some minor soiling to the top outside page ends, which just appears to be shelf wear and does not effect the inside pages. No writing or marks in the book. Outside cloth covers are very nice. The Dust Jacket is in Very Good condition with some soiling primarily to the back cover and some minor edge chipping. Book Club Edition that has come from a private collection. Dust Jacket is now covered by a new clear mylar cover. We Were There Books are easy to read and provide exciting, entertaining stories, based upon true historic events. Each story is checked for factual accuracy by an outstanding authority on this particular phase of history. Though written simply enough for young readers, they make interesting reading for boys and girls well into their teens. One of our family's favorite series! We were there with the California Forty-Niners- let the story take you back to 1849 in California gold country through the eyes of two children.
