London: William Heinemann LTD, 1940. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 1940 First UK Edition. Original olive green cloth with gilt lettering spine. LACKING the dust jacket. The book has clean covers, faded spine, old owner name penned to top of short-title page and corresponding bookplate of same owner on the verso of the FFEP, otherwise there are no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, solid binding, foxing on a few pages mainly on those opposite photo plates (most pages have no foxing), minor fore-edge foxing. The book measures 220mm tall x 145mm, and has 354 pages, 85 b/w photos, 2 maps, EP maps, index. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
