Garden City: Printed at the Country Life Press [for Doubleday, Page & Company] 1927. Limited edition, one of 50 copies. 7.25" x 5". [38] pp. With 15 total wood-engraved illustrations by Gill: Paschal Lamb device and 14 Stations of the Cross. In custom binding by Sangorski & Sutcliffe for the Halle Bros. of limp, polished burgundy calf, single-rule border stamped in black, gilt-stamped spine titles, corners rounded, a.e.g., silk endpapers, flyleaves; housed in marbled-paper slipcase. Sunning to spine, a few small scratches to spine and covers; gift inscription to front flyleaf; moderate edgewear to slipcase. The American edition of this Gill-illustrated devotional, first printed in 1917 at S. Dominic's Press, which includes the prayers for each Station in parallel Latin and English along with devotional commentary. The illustrations for the 14 Stations are printed from the original blocks, while the Lamb device replaces the DP device of the UK editions. Gill (2nd ed.) 268
