Eyre and Spottiswoode Green hardcover binding clean, square and tight. 1951 Gift note ffep, foxing and some light soiling, but overall a nice copy of rare book. Dustjacket not-price-clipped. Rubbed along edges, small chip back of DJ, some wrinkles. Back of DJ advertises Eleanor Helme's Dear Busybody. 160 pages. Jill recently witnessed her mother's death in a riding accident, and her father has gone abroad - so she is sent to live with her aunt and cousins whose lives revolve around ponies and riding. After several months, she conquers her fears, and then she learns to love a wild and unpredictable piebald pony, Water Wagtail. Author wrote this book when she was 11 years old after spending a great deal of time in bed with rheumatic fever. Extremely hard to find..
