About This Item

London: Shell Petroleum, 1952. First Edition of this collection of sea chanties. It is noted that many of these songs and illustrations (by various artists) appeared in advertisements for Shell World-wide Bunkering Services (likely in publications with limited distribution). Each of the 25 chanties are printed with music, lyrics and a color illustration. Near fine. While there is no written indication, this was the property of the printer, the Curwen Press.
