About This Item
Aperture Foundation, NY, 1997; First Edition; oblong quarto, 160 pages. David Hanson’s sobering photographic series of irreparably damaged regions of the American landscape, comprised of four connected series: Colstrip, Montana; Minuteman Missile Sites; Waste Land; and The Treasure State: Montana, 1889-1989. Foreword by Wendell Berry, afterword by Mark Dowie, with additional text by Susan Griffin, William Kittredge, Peter Montague, Maria B. Pellerano, and Terry Tempest Williams. Over ninety striking full-page color photographs bearing witness to the irreversible devastation engendered by corporate unscrupulousness. Fine, in a Near Fine dust jacket that has one small closed edge tear at upper left of the front panel. A clean, crisp, bright, and sparkling copy, with no ownership signatures or any other markings of any kind.
