New York: Cornell Maritime Press, 1946. Hardcover, small quarto. 1,164pp., Illustrated throughout with photographs and drawings. Victory Edition [second edition, first published 1944]. An American produced annual comparable to Jane's, containing a "complete chronological histoiry of the war at sea, from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945, as well as descriptions of every naval vessel afloat during that period and a summary of the actions in which each of these thousands of craft took part." Covers worn and badly shaken, spine cloth torn and loose, and inner hinges tape reinforced. Pages lightly toned but book blocksolid, with all pages attached. Cloth now protected by reinforced mylar covers with relevant artwork inserted. Previous owner's gift inscription inside cover. An important reference for the world's battle fleets during and just after the Second World War. A poor copy.
