Illustrated endpapers, showing places visited. Coloured photographic frontispiece, showing a young African women against a house. The text is illustrated with numerous black-and-white photographs and occasional black-and-white illustrations. 1/4 red cloth spine with gilt coloured titles and 3/4 blue/green boards. Very slight wear to the top and bottom and spine edges and the fund board is slightly bowed. The front hinge is slightly "loose". Black coloured remainder mark to the lower paper edges. Photographic dustwrapper, showing a young African woman dancer (slightly blurred), with authors photograph on the back panel. A little crinkling to the top and bottom dustwrapper edges.
