About This Item
Chester Springs & Dublin: Dufour Editions & Dolmen Press, 1968. The Irish poet and barrister's last lyrical book, with work written between 1963 and 1966. MacDonagh (1912-1968), whose father was executed by the British for his part in the Easter Uprising, was also co-editor of "The Oxford Book of Irish Verse" with Lennox Robinson. Published shortly after his death, with a Preface by Niall Sheridan. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition Thus, a joint venture by Dufour and Dolmen. Tan cloth binding with gilt spine lettering, showing sun at the margins. 69 pages; clean and fresh text.The dustwrapper is complete and unclipped. Tan with red lettering and a drawing by Leslie MacWeeney on the cover. Light wear at the edges. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Thus.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Near Fine.
