Okinawa / Tokyo: Tokyo Welfare Factory, 1997. 81p., fullpage color reproductions throughout, with b&w site photography and family snapshots, softbound in 10x7 inch color wraps; aside from a bookseller's notes on title page, entirely clean and sound, a near-fine copy. Author's brief little poems are quite good and deep, with no discernable debt to the translator. Paintings to taste. Title page note defines "warabe" as "an old Japanese word meaning children or a child, inferring a feeling of innocence and purity. It was a term used only by adults, not by the children themselves.
