About This Item
West Lafayette, Ohio: George R. Kirkpatrick, 1910. The second book written by George Ross Kirkpatrick (1867-1937), an anti-militarist tract that led to him running for Vice-President on the Socialist Party ticket. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition, published by the author to"help instruct and rouse the working class." Although the book was reprinted many times, this initial printing was only 2500 copies. Red cloth binding, ruled, with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 349 pages, indexed. Many great illustrations and cartoons by John Sloan, and a colour plate by Ryan Walker of a bayonet stabbing a worker's hand. Bumped, with mild general wear, some rubbing to the head and foot of the spine. Spine has darkened. No dustjacket. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
