London, 1943. unbound. very good(+). 1 page on Prime Minister's letterhead, 9.5 x 7.5, 10 Downing Street, London, May 11, 1943, to British captain C.G. Illingworth, who commanded the Queen Mary during World War II, when Prime Minister Winston Churchill and his staff commandeered her for a special mission, in part: "...The Prime Minister has asked me to send you the attached message. He asks that you personally will accept the enclosed photograph as a slight memento of the voyage. May I add the sincere thanks of all the Prime Minister's personal staff to you and all under your Command, who have looked after us in every way so well..." Very good(+) condition.<br/><br/> British naval officer and aide-de-camp to Prime Minister Winston Churchill.<br/><br/>
