Evanston: Privately published, c. 1952. hardcover. Near fine. Octavo, maroon leatherette covers, with gilt spine titles and WPM monogram in an oval cartouche on top cover. Xiv [4] 111 pages + colophon. Includes black and white illustrations and an appendix: List of sources; Cairo Shortline Railroad Payroll Record; Walter P. Murphy Patents; Genealogical Records. Signed by the author on the front free endpaper--the author was also President Emeritus of Northwestern University. Patton was a railroad industrialist who, among his other philanthropies, provided funds for the establishment of the Technological Institute at Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois. Covers have very light wear at edges, near fine condition.
