Over sixty reproductions of wall paintings of spirit figures which play a part in the rites of the Buyeye secret society of Bantu snake charmers in Sukumaland, Tanganyika. Four of the figures are reproduced in color on tipped-in plates. Text by Hans Cory, notable Government Anthropologist for Tanganyika. Very Good, clean and crisp, titles bright, binding tight, sound, and square, corners sharp. Frontispiece creased along the right edge.
