About This Item

San Diego New York London: Harcourt Brace and Company A Harvest Book, 1999. Reprint. Paperback. Near Fine. Thick 8vo. Pp. xvii, 526. Illustrated with a 16-page section of black and white photos. Index. Bound in stiff photo-illustrated wraps. Slight superficial scuff on fore-edge, else Fine. Inscribed by John Lewis on the half-title page. Inscription in black ink reads, To Walt and Marie, Keep the Faith, John Lewis 9-4-04. Walt Crowley and Marie McCaffrey are perhaps best known as founders of HistoryLink, the online encyclopedia of Pacific Northwest history, and the first US website devoted to regional history. Crowley and McCaffrey also collaborated on an extensive list of books documenting Seattle history. In that capacity, Crowley's positions as a city planner, local television commentator, and speechwriter served him well. Notably, Crowley's civic activism during Seattle's 1960s political unrest endeared a kinship with John Lewis. Now protected with a clear, removable archival jacket.
