London: The Bodley Head, 1967. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Good. 8" by 5". None. The first UK edition of this, 'Intensely funny and shocking first novel' from Paul Theroux. Paul Edward Theroux (born April 10, 1941) is an American travel writer and novelist, whose best known work of travel writing is perhaps The Great Railway Bazaar (1975). He has published numerous works of fiction, some of which were made into feature films. In a red cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Light shelfwear. Dustwrapper is sound, though with some chipping, and a couple of spots to the inner flyleaf. Bookseller's label to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, and generally clean, with just a few instances of spotting. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
