About This Item
Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 1932. A memoir of the Osage Agency. Mathews (1894-1979) was a Native American writer. This book, issued by an academic press, became a surprising best-seller when it was offered by the Book of the Month Club. This is a Very Good copy of either a Later Printing of the First Edition, or possibly the BOMC edition; at this time the book club editions were often undistinguishable from the trade versions. Orange cloth binding, with a Native American design on the front panel. Illustrated throughout by May Todd Aaron; charming illustrated endpapers. Moderate wear with some fading to the spine. Previous-owner signature opposite half-title. Clean text; 359 pages. An excellent reading copy of a wonderful book. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Later Printing.. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. Illus. by May Todd Aaron.
