About This Item

Maidestone: Ebenezer Press, 1992. First edition. Hardback. Fine/Near Fine. 9" by 6". Graham Clarke. A witty, humorous work posing as William Shakespeare's diary. Signed by the author, stated as discoverer, Graham Clarke. Inscription reads 'For Mollie with all good wishes from Graham Clarke'. This is the first edition. This 'notebook' is claimed to have been discovered by Clarke in the lining of an ancient leather jerkin. It depicts the bard's teenage years in an 'intimate, autobiographical' form and is printed in 'his own idiosyncratic hand'. The author, Graham Clarke, is an author, artist, illustrator and humorist. He is one f Britain's best selling print makers. In original pictorial boards and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent with little to no shelfwear. Dustwrapper is excellent with very small amounts of light rubbing to the extremities. Author's gift inscription to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the odd spots. Fine
