About This Item

1686 Attack on Louis XIV of France French Politics Government Christian Princes

'The True Interest of Christian Princes' was a late 17th-century French pamphlet written by an unknown author who was highly critical of Louis XIV of France. This treatise attacked the French monarch for his inability to rise to greatness and lead morally. The author is unknown and the publisher's name Jean Marlorat is also presumed to be fictitious, as no other instances of Marlorat appeared in print.
